The reigning T20 World Champions India, led by Shubman Gill, have created another historic record. On July 10, at the Harare Sports Club, India defeated Zimbabwe by 23 runs in the third T20I of a five-match series. This victory not only gave India a 2-1 lead in the series but also marked their 150th win in T20I cricket, making them the first team to achieve this milestone.

India’s win against Zimbabwe in the third T20I was their 150th win in the shortest format of international cricket. This milestone underscores India’s dominance in T20 cricket, being one of only three teams to have won the prestigious T20 World Cup twice, and the current T20 World Champions. Following India, Pakistan is second with 142 wins, and New Zealand is third with 111 wins. Notably, former champions West Indies and Sri Lanka have yet to reach 90 wins in this format.

In the third T20I, India defeated Zimbabwe by 23 runs. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, India posted 182/4 in 20 overs, thanks to a half-century from Shubman Gill and a vital knock from Ruturaj Gaikwad. Gill scored 66 runs off 49 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, while Gaikwad contributed 49 off 28 balls.

In the second innings, notably, Washington Sundar’s impressive spell of 3 wickets for just 15 runs in four overs restricted Zimbabwe’s scoring.
