ICC Announces All-Female Umpires Panel for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to kick off on October 3 in the United Arab Emirates, hosted by Bangladesh. The International Cricket Council has announced an all-female panel of match officials for the tournament, comprising ten umpires and three match referees.

This experienced group brings a wealth of knowledge and unique experiences to the event. Claire Polosak, a seasoned umpire, will make her fifth tournament appearance. Kim Cotton and Jacqueline Williams, both veterans with three tournaments each, officiated the final between South Africa and Australia last February. Sue Redfern, a TV umpire who also officiated that final, returns for her fourth tournament. Sarah Dambanevana from Zimbabwe will debut as an umpire.

Match referees include GS Lakshmi, who officiated her first T20I in 2012, along with Shandre Fritz and Michell Pereira.

Sean Easey, the ICC’s senior manager, expressed pride in contributing to the advancement of women in cricket. Moreover, he emphasized the quality of the selected officials, stating, “This all-female lineup of match officials for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is wonderful. We are confident they will excel at this event.”

The Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees includes Shandré Fritz, GS Lakshmi, and Michell Pereira, while the umpire panel features Lauren Agenbag, Kim Cotton, Sarah Dambanevana, Anna Harris, Nimali Perera, Claire Polosak, Vrinda Rathi, Sue Redfern, Eloise Sheridan, and Jacqueline Williams.
