The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) seized the opportunity to honor former India captain, MS Dhoni, for his illustrious career ahead of the ‘southern derby‘ clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. HCA President Jagan Mohan Rao, along with other association officials, presented Dhoni with a miniature replica of Hyderabad’s iconic Charminar.

President Rao shared a video of the event on social media, expressing his pride in presenting the Charminar to the cricket legend on behalf of HCA. The gesture symbolized the fusion of Hyderabad’s rich heritage with Dhoni’s greatness in the sport.
Dhoni potentially made his final visit to Hyderabad as a player during the SRH vs CSK match, with the playoffs of his last season set for different venues. In the match, Dhoni, leading CSK, faced just two deliveries and scored one run before the home side, SRH, took charge, restricting CSK to 110/2 at the halfway mark, with Abhishek Sharma’s explosive innings of 37 runs in 12 balls making a significant impact.
