The focus of the final round of the Duleep Trophy will be on Suryakumar Yadav, India’s T20 star, who is set to represent India B against India D. However, the India A vs. India C clash is equally significant. While the tournament emphasizes individual performances over the points table, India C, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, aims to maintain their top spot and secure the trophy. With nine points, they lead India B by two.

India A, under Mayank Agarwal’s captaincy, has six points. Mayank will be eager to convert his promising starts into big scores. He made 56 against India D and 36 against India B but needs substantial contributions to catch the selectors’ eye, as his last Test appearance was in 2022. His teammates, Pratham Singh and Tilak Varma, had hit centuries in the 186-run win over India D. Tilak, who averages 53.63 in First Class cricket, is seen as a future all-format player for India at just 21.
Riyan Parag, a year older, will be watched for how he transitions his white-ball success into the red-ball format. The selectors will also keep an eye on India A’s bowlers like Prasidh Krishna, Shams Mulani, and Khaleel Ahmed.
India C has notable players like Anshul Kamboj, the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, and left-arm spinner Manav Suthar. Additionally, their strong batting lineup includes Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Rajat Patidar, and B. Sai Sudharsan.
