MS Dhoni and R Ashwin Reunite in CSK Camp for IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans are thrilled as IPL 2025 marks a major squad overhaul and the return of Ravichandran Ashwin. The veteran off-spinner, who last played for CSK in 2015, is back after six years. Ashwin, who retired from international cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, was signed for INR 9.75 crore, reuniting with MS Dhoni.

CSK has already begun preparations for IPL 2025, with practice sessions in full swing. On February 27, the franchise shared a video of Dhoni and Ashwin walking onto the field, sparking nostalgia among fans who fondly remember their past triumphs in yellow.

As CSK gears up to face Mumbai Indians in their opening match at Chepauk, Dhoni’s future remains uncertain. A video released by the franchise showed Dhoni wearing a T-shirt with Morse code, which fans deciphered as “One Last Time,” fueling speculation that this could be his final IPL season. However, neither Dhoni nor CSK has confirmed anything.

Ashwin, reflecting on his return, recalled CSK’s aggressive bidding for him in the 2011 IPL auction. “Life comes full circle. I played for CSK from 2008 to 2015, and what I learned there helped me in international cricket. It’s been 10 years since I last played for them,” he said. He also expressed gratitude for the franchise’s commitment, saying, “CSK fought for me at the auction, just like in 2011. It’s a special feeling.”

With Dhoni and Ashwin back together, their experience will be crucial in guiding Ruturaj Gaikwad and helping CSK chase their sixth IPL title.
