Yuvraj Singh congratulated the young batter via video call and wished him luck for his exceptional innings, heightening the significance of his century. In a video shared by BCCI post-match, Yuvraj expressed pride in Abhishek’s achievement and predicted more centuries to come from the left-hander’s bat.
Abhishek also shared insights into his innings, revealing that he used Shubman Gill’s bat during the match. He recounted the feeling of knowing it was his day when he started hitting boundaries, seizing the opportunity effectively.
His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award as India secured a convincing 100-run victory over Zimbabwe, leveling the series 1-1. The third T20I match between both teams will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
