Facing Matthew Forde in the 19th over, Pollard initially played two dots but then unleashed his power, hitting four massive sixes, three of them straight down the ground. His explosive hitting brought TKR to victory in the final over.
Pollard remained unbeaten on 52 off just 19 balls, showcasing his world-class finishing skills despite being in the twilight of his career. His timely knock secured TKR’s second win of the season in three matches.
Earlier in the game, Saint Lucia Kings posted a strong total of 187, thanks to Roston Chase’s fifty. TKR’s reply began with a flying start as young Parris smashed a quick 50 from 20 balls. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, TKR stayed in the hunt. Pollard’s fireworks in the penultimate over ultimately sealed the game for his side, underlining his legacy as a match-winner in T20 cricket.
