Virat Kohli’s Return to Domestic Cricket: No Live Streaming for Delhi vs Railways Ranji Match

Virat Kohli, India’s star batter, will make his long-awaited return to domestic cricket when Delhi faces Railways in the Ranji Trophy on January 30. However, fans hoping to watch Kohli in action will face disappointment, as the match will not broadcast or stream live.

Journalist Kushan Sarkar stated that the match wasn’t included in the pre-prepared broadcast schedule, and any change to include the fixture will depend on last-minute developments. Sarkar also mentioned that fans wishing to see Kohli play must attend the match in person.

While this news is disappointing for many, the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) has made special arrangements, offering 10,000 fans free entry to watch Kohli play. This marks his first appearance in the Ranji Trophy in over a decade, his last being in November 2012 when he faced Uttar Pradesh in Ghaziabad.

Kohli’s return to domestic cricket comes after a challenging year for the batting superstar. In 2024, Kohli played 15 matches across formats, scoring just 319 runs at an average of 18.76—his worst year in recent memory. This underperformance in Tests has led to speculation that the Ranji Trophy could be an opportunity for Kohli to regain his rhythm and form in the longest format of the game. Despite his recent struggles, many expect his appearance in the domestic tournament to attract significant attention.
