Shikhar Dhawan, the former Indian cricketer, once again captured hearts with a heartwarming gesture during the Big Cricket League (BCL) 2024. Known for his lively personality, both on and off the field, Dhawan’s act of kindness occurred during a semi-final match between the Southern Spartans and Northern Challengers in Surat.

During the match, a player hit a ball high into the stands, and it struck a young fan on the chest. While the injury appeared to be minor, Dhawan immediately noticed the situation and showed genuine concern for the fan. In a video that quickly went viral, the Delhi batter made his way towards the stands and, from a few steps below, threw a water bottle to the injured fan as a simple yet thoughtful gesture.
Fans widely praised Dhawan’s compassion, appreciating his kindness and sportsmanship beyond the cricket field. The gesture added to his already glowing reputation as one of cricket’s most affable figures.
Despite retiring from international cricket in August 2023, Dhawan has remained active in the cricketing world. He last played for India in 2022 and was later dropped due to a dip in form. Following his retirement, he participated in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) for the Karnali Yaks, scoring 301 runs in four matches at an impressive strike rate of 198.02. His strong performances continued in the BCL 2024, where he scored 86 runs off 43 balls in his first match. Although the Southern Spartans knocked his team out in the semi-finals, Dhawan’s performances and kindness made a lasting impression.
