New Zealand’s star batter, Rachin Ravindra, was recently seen training at the Super Kings Academy in Tamil Nadu. This preparation comes ahead of New Zealand’s one-off Test against Afghanistan, which starts on September 9 at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground. Ravindra, who was a notable acquisition for Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 IPL auction, did not make the impact expected during the tournament.
Teammate Ben Sears Also in Training

Rachin Ravindra’s teammate Ben Sears also practiced in the nets alongside him. After the Afghanistan Test, New Zealand will face India in a three-match Test series beginning on October 16. Later in the year, the Blackcaps will travel to Sri Lanka for a series that includes three T20Is and three ODIs.
Ravindra’s Rising Importance
Ravindra has become a key player for New Zealand, especially highlighted by his performances in the ODI World Cup in India. He made his Test debut in November 2021 against India. Notably, Ravindra recently achieved the rare feat of converting a maiden century into a double century during the Test series against South Africa. As New Zealand heads into their sub-continent tour, all eyes will be on Ravindra to see if he can maintain his impressive form.
