Mahika Gaur, England’s promising left-arm seamer, has decided to withdraw from this year’s Women’s Hundred due to an ongoing side strain. The 18-year-old, who demonstrated potential last season and Manchester Originals retained, plans to continue her rehabilitation during the tournament’s month-long window under the supervision of medical teams from both the ECB and her regional side, Thunder.

Mahika Gaur missed the early-season white-ball series against Pakistan due to completing her A-levels, followed by her unfortunate exclusion from the T20I squad facing New Zealand because of her injury setback
This setback in the Hundred could potentially impact her chances of securing a spot in England’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. The tournament is crucial preparation, especially with no other bilateral series scheduled before their October departure.
Having represented UAE from the age of 12, Mahika Gaur made a notable debut for England against Sri Lanka last summer. Her impressive performance, including figures of 3 for 26 on her ODI debut at Chester-le-Street in September, showcased her talent and potential at the international level.
Despite this setback, Mahika Gaur remains determined to recover fully and regain her form, aiming to contribute significantly to both Manchester Originals and England’s future campaigns once she returns to full fitness.
