India’s seasoned all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, is poised to break a significant record held by former captain MS Dhoni as the team faces Bangladesh in the second T20I of the three-match series. The match will take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi tonight.

Pandya currently has 1,562 T20I runs and needs just 56 runs to surpass Dhoni on the list of India’s most successful T20I batters. Additionally, if he hits a boundary, he will overtake Dhoni for the most fours hit by an Indian in T20Is. Currently, MS Dhoni sits in sixth place on the list of top run-scorers, while Hardik Pandya ranks eighth, just 43 runs behind Suresh Raina.

Hardik Pandya has emerged as a vital player for India in T20 cricket since his debut in 2016. He played a key role in India’s T20 World Cup success in the USA and the Caribbean. In the first T20I against Bangladesh, he showcased his all-round capabilities with a stellar performance, taking one wicket for 26 runs in four overs. His batting was particularly impressive, as he scored a quickfire 39 off just 16 balls, featuring five boundaries and two sixes. Given his current form, Pandya should play a crucial role for India in the upcoming match against Bangladesh.
