In a Group C encounter at Providence Stadium in Guyana, Uganda faced Papua New Guinea in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup, where Uganda’s veteran spinner, Frank Nsubuga, etched his name in T20 World Cup history.

Just one match after Uganda’s historic World Cup debut, the 43-year-old Nsubuga made headlines. He became the second-oldest player ever in a T20 World Cup, surpassing Australian Brad Hogg’s record. Nsubuga now ranks just behind Hong Kong’s Ryan Campbell as the oldest player in the 2024 tournament.
After winning the toss, Uganda’s captain Brian Masaba chose to field first. He also made history by selecting 43-year-old Nsubuga over Henry Ssenyondo in the playing eleven.
