Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma will return to The Hundred 2024, replacing the injured Grace Harris in the London Spirit squad. Deepti previously played for Spirit in the competition’s inaugural 2021 edition and was with Birmingham Phoenix in 2022, though she didn’t play any matches.

The Hundred 2024‘s latest edition begins on Tuesday, July 23, with Oval Invincibles facing Birmingham Phoenix at Kennington Oval, London. London Spirit will start their campaign the following day against Southern Brave at The Rose Bowl, Southampton.
Deepti will miss the initial matches due to her commitment to India women’s cricket team Asia Cup campaign in Dambulla. Erin Burns, already in the UK with Northern Diamonds, will replace her for the first two games. Deepti is one of three Indian players in The Hundred 2024, alongside Richa Ghosh (Birmingham Phoenix) and Smriti Mandhana (Southern Brave). Like Deepti, they will also be unavailable in the first week due to the Asia Cup.
The ECB announced replacements for several players on Thursday afternoon. Sophie Molineux (Manchester Originals) and Harris have withdrawn, likely due to Australia’s busy schedule. Kim Garth replaces Molineux, with Bethan Ellis joining after Mahika Gaur withdrew due to a side strain. Tash Farrant’s injury update sidelines her, and Oval Invincibles have yet to name a replacement.
Last year, Southern Brave won the final by 34 runs against Northern Superchargers at Lord’s.
The Hundred 2024 player replacements:
- Birmingham Phoenix: Louis Kimber and Tim Southee replace Will Smeed and Naseem Shah.
- London Spirit: James Neesham and Matthew Taylor replace Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope during England duty; Deepti Sharma replaces Grace Harris, with Erin Burns replacing Deepti until the end of the Asia Cup.
- Manchester Originals: Kim Garth and Bethan Ellis replace Sophie Molineux and Mahika Gaur.
