Jasprit Bumrah has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test bowlers’ rankings, following his match-winning performance in the Perth Test against Australia. Bumrah’s 8 for 72, including 5 for 30 in the first innings that dismantled Australia for just 104, earned him a career-best rating of 883 points. His exceptional performance helped him surpass South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood to retake the top spot. Bumrah had previously reached No. 1 earlier this year after a stellar series against England, briefly returning to the position in October before Rabada regained the top spot.
In addition to Bumrah’s success, India’s Mohammed Siraj has also moved up three spots to No. 25 in the Test bowler rankings after his five-wicket haul in Perth.
Bumrah’s teammate, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has achieved a career-best ranking as well. The young opener, who scored a brilliant 161 in the second innings of the Perth Test, has risen to No. 2 in the Test batters’ rankings, surpassing New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and England’s Harry Brook. Jaiswal earned a new career-high rating of 825, now just 78 points behind top-ranked Joe Root.
In the batter rankings, Australia’s Travis Head moved up three places to No. 10, while India’s Virat Kohli gained nine spots to reach No. 13 after his 30th Test century. West Indies’ fast-bowling trio of Jayden Seales, Kemar Roach, and Alzarri Joseph also made gains in the rankings after their strong performances in the Antigua Test against Bangladesh.
In the allrounders’ rankings, Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz climbed three spots to No. 3 following his match-winning contributions in Antigua. Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin remain in the top two positions.
