In a recent development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied reports suggesting that it has agreed to a hybrid model for the 2025 Champions Trophy, where India’s matches would be held in the UAE. These rumors, initially reported by Indian media, claimed that the PCB had given in to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s demands and accepted the hybrid model, which would see India play their games in Dubai.

However, PCB sources have strongly refuted these claims, stating that Pakistan will host the entire tournament. A PCB source clarified that they did not consider any hybrid model and confirmed that Pakistan will host the entire Champions Trophy.
The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled from February 19 to March 9, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) and PCB are expected to announce the official schedule between November 10-12. One report also suggested that the PCB is awaiting a formal written confirmation from the BCCI regarding India’s participation. The PCB has stated that they will release the tournament schedule regardless of the BCCI’s response.
The proposed groupings place Pakistan in Group A with India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B will include England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, sports journalist Abhishek Tripathi has added a new twist to the saga. He tweeted that the BCCI has informed the PCB that India will not be traveling to Pakistan for the tournament, insisting that their matches be played in Dubai instead. This ongoing dispute over the venue remains unresolved, adding uncertainty to the future of the 2025 Champions Trophy.
