However, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mahmudullah stabilized the innings with a crucial partnership. Although Mahmudullah fell for 37, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim combined brilliantly, steering Bangladesh to victory with a 165-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Their partnership ensured Bangladesh chased down the target comfortably with 32 balls to spare, taking them 1-0 up in the three-match Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka ODI series.
