Current ICC Chairman Greg Barclay announced he will not seek a third term and will step down after November 2024. Barclay, who was first appointed in November 2020 and re-elected in 2022, confirmed his decision in a recent media release.

According to News18, Rohan Jaitley’s potential appointment is contingent upon Shah’s decision regarding the ICC Chairman role. Jay Shah, a leading candidate for the position, must submit his nomination by August 27. This date is the final deadline for all nominations.

Rohan Jaitley currently serves as the president of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and has significantly contributed to the Delhi Premier League at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. His candidacy for the BCCI Secretary role will proceed if Jay Shah files his nomination. Reports indicate that 15 out of 16 BCCI members support Shah’s appointment, highlighting his strong position in the upcoming election.
