During Match 21 of IPL 2024 on Sunday, April 07 in Lucknow, India, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) wrist spinner Ravi Bishnoi showcased his fielding brilliance with a stunning catch to dismiss Gujarat Titans’ Kane Williamson. Bishnoi made the breakthrough for his team early in his spell, taking a remarkable catch off his own bowling on just the second ball.
The 23-year-old bowler delivered a flighted delivery outside off stump, tempting Williamson to play a shot in the air. Williamson’s mistimed stroke chipped the ball into the air, but Bishnoi, showing exceptional athleticism, leaped to his right and completed a one-handed catch, leaving spectators awestruck. Bishnoi celebrated in his trademark style after securing the crucial wicket.
In the match, after choosing to bat first, LSG posted a competitive total of 163/5 in their allotted 20 overs, boosted by Marcus Stoinis’ half-century and significant contributions from Nicholas Pooran and KL Rahul.
In reply, GT had a good beginning in the early overs, but they struggled in the middle part of the match and were eventually all out for 130 runs. LSG’s Yash Thakur shone with the ball, taking his first-ever five-wicket haul, while Krunal Pandya also played a big role with three wickets. Bishnoi also helped with the ball, taking one wicket for just eight runs in two overs.
