Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube have joined Team India in Zimbabwe for their five-match T20I series. Their arrival was confirmed by RevSportz on Monday, though it remains uncertain if they will be available for the third T20I on Wednesday. Sanju Samson, who was seen in the dugout during the second T20I, adds another layer of selection complexity.

Jaiswal, Dube, and Samson’s inclusion presents a selection dilemma for India, especially after a dominant performance against Zimbabwe. Abhishek Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad impressed in the second T20I, while skipper Shubman Gill is yet to hit his stride. Rinku Singh’s outstanding performance in the second T20I solidified the top and middle-order.
Dube’s inclusion is particularly noteworthy as Rinku Singh had to be benched during the T20 World Cup 2024 to make room for him. With both being similar players, the competition for a spot intensifies. Dhruv Jurel’s position is also under threat with Samson back in the squad.
The team management must carefully select the best XI to play against Sikandar Raza’s Zimbabwe on Wednesday. The competition for spots signifies healthy competition within the Indian squad, fostering a positive atmosphere as they pursue another victory.
