Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra praised Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) formidable batting display against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their recent IPL 2024 clash at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Despite RCB setting a challenging target of 182 runs in the first innings, KKR’s aggressive batting approach led them to a convincing seven-wicket victory.

Chopra specifically highlighted the explosive batting partnership of Phil Salt and Sunil Narine at the top of the order, with both players scoring quickfire runs. Narine’s aggressive style of play, in particular, caught Chopra’s attention, as he emphasized Narine’s intent to dominate the bowlers by constantly aiming for big hits.
In comparison to RCB’s batting performance, which saw Virat Kohli scoring 83 runs off 59 balls, Chopra noted KKR’s blistering start, with the visitors reaching 85 runs in just 5.5 overs. Despite RCB’s efforts with the ball, including bowlers like Alzarri Joseph, Mohammed Siraj, and Yash Dayal, KKR’s aggressive approach proved to be too much to handle for the home team.
Chopra’s analysis underscored KKR’s dominance in the match, with their aggressive batting approach setting the tone for a successful chase against RCB’s formidable target.
