India triumphed in the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final at Kensington Oval, Barbados, on June 29. This victory ended an 11-year wait for an ICC trophy. After the win, BCCI announced a Rs 125 crore prize money for the team, presenting it to captain Rohit Sharma during the victory celebration at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on July 4.

According to a report by the Indian Express on July 8, each of the 15 members of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup squad will receive Rs 5 crore, while head coach Rahul Dravid will receive Rs 2.50 crore. Although only 12 players participated in the eight T20 World Cup matches, all 15 squad members will get the prize money.
The coaching staff, including batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, and fielding coach T Dilip, will each receive Rs 2.50 crore. Members of the selection committee, including chief selector Ajit Agarkar, will receive Rs 1 crore each. Reserve players Shubman Gill, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, and Rinku Singh will also get Rs 1 crore each.
Other members of India’s backroom staff, including three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, two masseurs, and the strength and conditioning coach, will receive Rs 2 crore each. A total of 42 individuals, including the team’s video analyst, BCCI staff members, media officers, and the logistics manager, will be rewarded for their contributions.
“A BCCI source informed the Indian Express that they have informed players and support staff about the prize money they will receive and have asked everyone to submit an invoice.”
