LeBron James has voiced his frustration regarding the Los Angeles Lakers’ pre-season schedule. Which requires the team to fly to Milwaukee for an exhibition game this week.
After beginning their pre-season with two games in Palm Desert, California, while their home arena undergoes renovations, the Lakers are set to face the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. Following this matchup, they will conclude their exhibition slate with additional games in Las Vegas, Phoenix, and San Francisco.
James took to social media to express his bewilderment at the travel plans, tweeting, “Can someone please explain to me why we’re getting on a ✈️ and heading to Milwaukee for 1 pre-season game!?!?” This journey spans approximately 1,750 miles.
Former NBA player and current basketball analyst Richard Jefferson chimed in on conversation, replying, “Bro, I’m surprised you’re on that-plane.” James humorously responded, “I’m surprised at myself!” accompanied by a facepalm emoji.
It’s worth noting that Bucks made a similar trip last preseason, flying to Los Angeles for a game against Lakers.
The Lakers are not alone in facing travel challenges this pre-season. Many teams are logging significant miles, including the past two NBA champions—the Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets—who recently played two exhibition games in Abu Dhabi. As the league prepares for the regular season, these travel demands highlight the logistical complexities of modern NBA schedules.
