In the previous episode, Shion and Rose cared for Marie while discussing her condition. Meanwhile, Shion and Cole Aleister examined patients, noticing slight improvements in those with residual magic energy. To further his research, Shion, Brigitte, and Raphina hunted monsters to test his magic. This led Shion to consider human experimentation, with Rose volunteering. Her participation provided crucial insights into magic energy’s effects.
However, progress stagnated for years, as narrated by Lord Balfe. Despite Shion’s determination, a sudden wraith demon attack cut the episode short, setting up the chaos to unfold in Episode 10.
The upcoming episode takes place two years later, following the return of the red phenomenon known as “Akaya.” This event triggers a large-scale wraith invasion toward Istoria. Shion, Raphina, and their allies will battle the advancing horde, using magic without depletion due to Akaya’s influence. However, the sheer number of wraiths will push them to their limits. Just as despair sets in, Glast will arrive with an unidentified individual, possibly turning the tide.
