Navjot Singh Sidhu suggests bringing in Kuldeep Yadav if you prefer to avoid facing spinners against USA

India, with two consecutive wins, is on the verge of qualifying for the Super 8 stage in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Their bowlers have excelled, while Rishabh Pant and skipper Rohit Sharma have been pivotal with the bat. Looking ahead to their match against the USA, former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu suggested maintaining the current winning combination but considering Kuldeep Yadav if the team doesn’t require the batting contributions of Ravindra Jadeja or Axar Patel.

Sidhu emphasized the stability of the current XI, stressing that when a team is winning, there’s no need for unnecessary changes. He highlighted the potential advantage of Kuldeep Yadav in West Indies conditions, which may favor spin bowling.

“The team doesn’t need to experiment when they’re in rhythm and have a winning formula. If it’s working well, there’s no need to fix it. You have a balanced combination,” Sidhu commented on Star Sports.

He further discussed the puzzle of team composition, suggesting Kuldeep Yadav as an option if less batting from spinners is desired against the USA. Sidhu acknowledged Axar Patel’s recent strong performance against Pakistan but suggested that Kuldeep’s unique bowling style could be beneficial in upcoming matches.

“Kuldeep’s trajectory and skill make him a promising choice. He could potentially replace Axar Patel, although Axar played exceptionally well in the last match. It’s a decision the team management will need to carefully consider,” Sidhu concluded.
