Smriti Mandhana says her wedding is cancelled

India batter Smriti Mandhana has confirmed that her wedding has been officially called off. Mandhana was set to marry music composer Palash Muchhal on November 23, but the ceremony was first postponed after her father was hospitalised. Now, she has ended all speculation by announcing that the wedding will no longer take place.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Mandhana said she felt the need to address the rumours surrounding her personal life. Calling herself a private person, she clarified that the wedding stands cancelled and requested everyone to stop further discussion on the matter. She urged the public and media to respect the privacy of both families and give them the space needed to process the situation.

Mandhana said her focus remains firmly on her cricketing career, which she believes is her true purpose. Representing India at the highest level continues to be her priority, and she expressed her determination to keep playing and winning trophies for the country. She ended her note by saying, “It’s time to move forward.”

On the field, Mandhana has been in excellent form. She was the second-highest run-scorer in India’s victorious women’s ODI World Cup campaign, scoring 434 runs at an average of 54.25. Her immediate cricketing schedule is also packed. She will next feature in the five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at home from December 21 to 30.

Following that, Mandhana will captain Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 2026 Women’s Premier League, which begins on January 9. RCB open their season against Mumbai Indians in Navi Mumbai.
