Novak Djokovic is taking a well-deserved break after a challenging 2024 season, during which he entered just 10 tournaments, failed to capture a Grand Slam title, and saw his World No. 1 ranking slip to Jannik Sinner. Despite these setbacks, Djokovic did secure his long-desired Olympic gold medal, which was the highlight of his season.
The 37-year-old Serbian also dealt with injuries this year, and after missing the ATP Finals, he has set his sights on returning to full fitness in time for 2025, aiming to add to his record-breaking Grand Slam tally.
Will Djokovic Play in the 2025 Davis Cup?
Looking ahead, Djokovic has expressed his intent to play in the 2025 Davis Cup, a tournament that holds special significance for him. Speaking at a Euroleague basketball game between Crvena zvezda and Alba in Belgrade, the World No. 5 confirmed his desire to compete in the prestigious team event next season.

Djokovic shared that the start of 2025 would see him return to action, although he was uncertain about his first tournament of the year. “I am going to play in the first week of the season, I am just not sure yet where,” Djokovic told Sport Klub via Tennis Majors. “Then, of course, the Australian Open.” He added, “I would like to play the Davis Cup too, let’s see what happens.”
The 24-time Grand Slam champion also emphasized that tennis remains his primary focus. “I am going at full throttle in the off-season, we go for another ride,” he said. “I just needed to recharge and refresh a bit after an exhausting year.”
Has Djokovic Won the Davis Cup?

Djokovic has previously won the Davis Cup once, in 2010, when Serbia triumphed in the final against France. The team secured a 3-2 victory after coming from behind at 1-2. Djokovic played a crucial role, winning two of Serbia’s three points by defeating Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon. Victor Troicki clinched the decisive point with a win over Michaël Llodra. Reflecting on the victory, Djokovic described it as “unbelievable” and one of the best matches of his career under immense pressure.
As he looks to 2025, Djokovic hopes to help Serbia capture its second Davis Cup title and add another significant achievement to his storied career.
