India and England will face off in the second semi-final in Guyana on June 27 amidst concerns of rain interruptions, with a high 69% chance of precipitation in the morning. Unlike other matches, the ICC has not allocated a reserve day for this crucial fixture. To ensure the game proceeds and concludes, the ICC has introduced a special rule known as the 250-minute rule.

Logistical considerations influenced the decision not to schedule a reserve day for the semi-final. With the final set for June 29 and teams needing to travel to Barbados, the ICC opted to avoid potential delays and fatigue by keeping the schedule tight.
The 250-minute rule allows additional time beyond the usual duration of play to accommodate rain delays or interruptions. This rule aims to ensure a result within the allocated timeframe, reducing the risk of a washout in this pivotal stage of the T20 World Cup.
In the event that weather prevents a match outcome despite the 250-minute rule, India would advance to the final against South Africa based on their superior performance in the Super Eight stage, where they topped their group with three wins out of three.
This approach reflects the ICC’s strategy to manage unpredictable weather conditions while maintaining the integrity and momentum of the tournament’s schedule.
