The start of the T20 World Champion Indian cricket team’s victory parade at Marine Drive on Thursday faced a delay due to the squad’s late arrival in Mumbai, landing a little after 5:00 pm local time. The parade route originally scheduled from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm planned to run from the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium.

The team could only depart from New Delhi by 3:42 pm after meeting with Indian PM Narendra Modi earlier in the day, following their return from Barbados early that morning.
At Wankhede Stadium, enthusiastic fans quickly filled the stands upon its opening, eager to celebrate the Indian cricket team’s recent title victory. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, the team and support staff proceeded from the southern tip of the city towards Wankhede Stadium, a venue renowned for hosting India’s last ODI World Cup triumph in 2011.
Passionate supporters filled the stadium’s stands, with thousands more waiting outside the gates, which closed around 5:00 pm amidst the excitement.
