Lavreysen’s victory in the keirin followed his successful title defenses in the team and individual sprints. This win solidified his status as a standout performer at the National Velodrome. The final was particularly tense, with Lavreysen reclaiming the lead after Richardson had edged him in the semi-finals.

The crash at the end of the race added to the drama, but all involved cyclists eventually recovered. Lavreysen’s triumph brought the Netherlands’ total to 15 gold medals at Paris 2024, highlighting their impressive performance throughout the Games.
