This will be the third time golf appears in the Olympics since its return at Rio 2016 after a 112-year hiatus. The sport debuted in the Paris 1900 Olympics but was dropped after the St Louis Games in 1904.

The tournament will showcase top talent from around the world, with world number one Scottie Scheffler leading a field of 60 competitors. Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Xander Schauffele, who recently added the Open to his PGA Championship title, will join Scheffler in a strong Team USA golf squad. European stars Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Åberg, and Jon Rahm will be formidable contenders.

Rio 2016 champion Justin Rose did not qualify this time. Instead, Team GB will feature Tommy Fleetwood, who won the 2017 French Open and the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National, and Matt Fitzpatrick.

The Olympic golf format features a 72-hole individual stroke play event with no halfway cut. As a result, all 60 players will compete in all four rounds.

Fans can look forward to witnessing the best in golf as these elite players vie for Olympic glory at the Paris 2024 Olympic golf event.
