Trackhouse has confirmed that Miguel Oliveira will depart from the team at the end of the current MotoGP season, as Ai Ogura’s 2025 contract with the American outfit comes into effect.
Oliveira, a five-time race winner with KTM, joined the RNF team—now Trackhouse—in 2022. Despite a challenging season marked by injury, he showed potential with a fourth-place finish as his best result. Transitioning to Trackhouse’s new RS-GP machine in 2024, Oliveira has delivered solid performances, including a front row start and a Sprint podium at the Sachsenring, though he has struggled to fully harness the factory bike’s capabilities.
With his contract ending, Oliveira is expected to join the new Pramac Yamaha project for the 2025 season.
Trackhouse Team Principal Davide Brivio expressed his appreciation for Oliveira’s contributions. “Thank you, Miguel. Although our time together has been brief, we have valued Miguel’s talent, experience, and dedication,” said Brivio. “It’s unfortunate that we have to part ways, especially since we feel there is untapped potential with the Aprilia. We aim to finish the season strong and properly celebrate Miguel’s contributions before we say our final goodbyes.”
Trackhouse Owner Justin Marks also praised Oliveira’s efforts. “Miguel’s commitment and work ethic this year have been invaluable as we established ourselves in MotoGP. His efforts with the Aprilia RS-GP24 have greatly contributed to our team’s progress. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and look forward to finishing the 2024 season on a high note.”
For the upcoming season, both Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura will be riding the latest 2025-spec RS-GPs. Oliveira’s departure means Fernandez will be the sole remaining rider on an Aprilia, as the factory team prepares to field an entirely new lineup with Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.
