Pedro Acosta is set to spend part of his summer break at KTM’s headquarters in Austria. The rising MotoGP star, who has had a standout season, hopes to gain a deeper understanding of KTM’s project and address recent declines in his bike’s performance.

Acosta, currently riding for Tech3 GASGAS, is taking a “one-way ticket” for his trip, indicating an open-ended stay. “I have a one-way ticket, but not a return ticket,” he told Relevo. “We’ll see how many days and weeks I stay there. It is always better to convey things face to face.”

The young rider, who has recently enjoyed leisure time in Ibiza with fellow MotoGP stars Jorge Martin and the Espargaro brothers, will now shift his focus to business matters. Acosta plans to meet with key figures at KTM to understand the inner workings and challenges affecting his bike’s performance.

After a strong start to the season with podium finishes in Portugal and Texas, Acosta’s momentum has waned, marked by retirements at Le Mans and Assen and an unmet expectation of victory in Jerez. Despite this, Acosta remains KTM’s most competitive rider, ahead of Brad Binder.

Acosta expressed a determination to find solutions rather than excuses. “I’m not looking for an excuse. I’m looking for the solution,” he said. He aims to familiarize himself with KTM’s operations and roles within the team to better understand the issues at hand.

“I prefer to first inform myself and see why things are not done or who gives power to one and who takes it away from another,” Acosta explained. “You have to get into the problem to see the problem.”

Despite the challenges, Acosta remains committed to his career and is determined to overcome the obstacles. “I knew I wanted to be here and I still want to be here. Nobody has put me in the lion’s den. Now it’s my turn to open it and go out on my own.”
