Marc Marquez’s Seamless Transition to Ducati Surpasses Expectations, Reveals Valencia Test Experience

Marc Marquez, previously under Honda’s contract until the close of 2023, shared insights into his inaugural Ducati experience following his Valencia test with the Gresini team.
At the post-season test in Valencia, Marquez posted the fourth fastest time, marking his debut aboard the Desmosedici after exclusively riding for Honda throughout his MotoGP career.
With contractual restrictions on discussing his test until January 1, Marquez expressed his surprising ease in adapting to the Ducati machine.
“I found my groove faster than anticipated,” Marquez shared in an embargoed statement to DAZN, emphasizing the distinctive nature and riding style of the Ducati compared to the Honda.
Acknowledging the Ducati’s championship-winning pedigree, Marquez felt the responsibility squarely in his hands, appreciating the bike’s competitive potential and the swift riders piloting it.
Despite displaying considerable speed during his Ducati debut, Marquez remains focused on understanding various aspects of the bike, particularly consistency and effective communication with his new team.
Transitioning from an 11-year collaboration, Marquez highlighted the challenge of building rapport with a fresh team but expressed gratitude for the warm reception from his new racing family.
Set to participate in Gresini’s official launch in Riccione, Italy on January 20, Marquez eagerly anticipates further sessions aboard the Ducati at the pre-season test in Malaysia from February 6-8.
The six-time MotoGP champion looks ahead to partnering with his brother Alex at Gresini for the upcoming MotoGP season, buoyed by his encouraging initial experience with the Ducati machine.
