Marc Marquez has hinted at the possibility of exploring other teams and manufacturers for the upcoming racing season, signaling a potential departure from Gresini Ducati.
Having ended his long-standing partnership with Honda to join Gresini Ducati this year on a one-year deal, Marquez’s future beyond 2024 is now open for discussion.
In an interview with TNT Sports, Marquez acknowledged the evolving market dynamics, stating, “Each manufacturer has signed a top rider – Ducati took Pecco, Yamaha took Quartararo, the next one will be Aprilia.” He emphasized that being fast on the race track opens doors to various opportunities, keeping his options open for the future.
While Marquez finds himself in a competitive position with Gresini Ducati, enjoying his time on the bike and feeling competitive, the possibility of exploring other teams remains intriguing.
One potential option could be to continue with Gresini Ducati, especially if his performances continue to improve in the upcoming European rounds. The team provides Marc Marquez with a familiar environment alongside his brother Alex Marquez, riding a bike that has shown promising results.

However, the factory Ducati team could offer an even more competitive bike, presenting an enticing prospect for Marquez’s pursuit of an eighth MotoGP title.
Alternatively, KTM has long expressed interest in Marquez, and their mutual sponsorship through Red Bull could facilitate a potential partnership. However, KTM’s priority may lie with emerging talent Pedro Acosta, unless they expand their grid to accommodate both riders.
A return to Honda remains a romantic option, but the team’s struggles in recent rounds diminish the likelihood of Marquez rejoining them unless significant improvements are made to their project.
As Marquez navigates the evolving landscape of MotoGP, his decision for the 2025 season will undoubtedly shape the future of the sport’s competitive landscape.
