Gresini Racing owner, Nadia Padovani, discusses Marc Marquez’s early team testing and the optimistic signs for the upcoming MotoGP season.

Marc Marquez’s exhilaration during his first run on the Ducati was unmistakable during the Valencia test post the MotoGP season.
Nadia Padovani, Gresini’s team owner, confessed that witnessing Marquez’s reaction during the bike test fueled her aspirations for the upcoming season.
“I eagerly awaited his helmet-off moment after his first lap,” she shared with Marca. “His initial expression mattered to me.
“When I saw that faint smile, I thought, ‘Alright, here we go.’ He was content, choosing to wrap up early to avoid any risks.
“After enduring challenging years due to various issues, he’s eager to make a comeback. Despite setbacks, he’s persistently aimed for his best.”
Padovani elaborated on Marquez’s introduction to the team, highlighting his composed and humble demeanor, contrary to the expected aura of someone with his accolades.
“His arrival was calm and humble,” she mentioned. “Considering his accomplishments, you anticipate a certain air, but it was quite the opposite. He was even a bit jittery, keen to get started.”
Marquez’s impressive initial ride on the Ducati has catapulted him into the ranks of potential contenders for the 2024 MotoGP championship. Riding the GP23, he faces strong competition within the Ducati team from Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin, who will pilot updated versions.
“Bagnaia’s prowess and bike control are evident. Martin’s riding style is spectacular,” Padovani praised. “Bezzecchi is also making strides. Winning the World Championship won’t be easy, but we’ll strive for it, matching our official team’s level and progressing further.”
