Aline Pereira, sister of UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, made a striking impression at Karate Combat 50 held in Salt Lake City, delivering a stunning knockout against Dee Begley. The bout showcased the Pereira family’s knack for devastating left hooks, a trademark move that has now become synonymous with their fighting style.
Aline entered the competition against Begley, who weighed in nine pounds heavier than the agreed limit. This weight discrepancy would prove disadvantageous for Begley, as Aline unleashed a powerful right hand followed by a left hook, sending her opponent crashing to the canvas. As Begley struggled to recover, Aline swiftly followed up with a barrage of punches until the referee intervened, stopping the fight with approximately 35 seconds remaining in the first round.
The victory sparked a jubilant celebration as Aline rushed to embrace her brother Alex, who watched from the sidelines, while Begley was left bleeding from her nose.
In her post-fight interview, Aline credited her brother for teaching her the combination that led to her victory, expressing her frustration over Begley’s weight miss and questioning her professionalism.
With a strong kickboxing background, Aline stepped into the Karate Combat arena for the first time, making a memorable debut. Though her MMA record stands at 1-2, with her last fight occurring in September 2023, Aline appears eager to continue competing in Karate Combat and build upon this highlight-reel moment.
The Pereira family has enjoyed a remarkable October, as Alex recently defended his light heavyweight title for the third time by defeating Khalil Rountree in a Fight of the Night performance at UFC 307.
