Dana White Opens Up About His Political Involvement, Slams Politics After Supporting Trump

UFC President Dana White has made it clear that he is stepping away from politics, following his involvement in Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign. White, who played a key role in helping Trump secure victory, told The New Yorker he’s done with political involvement, calling the entire process “gross” and “disgusting.”

“I’m never f–king doing this again,” White stated, emphasizing that he no longer wants any part of the political world. “I want nothing to do with this s–t. It’s gross. It’s disgusting.”

White had publicly supported Trump during the 2020 election and continued to back him during his 2024 campaign. The UFC boss had used his platform to connect with young male voters, a demographic that proved crucial in Trump’s re-election bid. White praised Trump for his resilience, work ethic, and the strength of his family, asserting, “Nobody deserves this more than him, and nobody deserves this more than his family does.”

Despite his staunch support for Trump, which stemmed from a decades-long friendship, White has made it clear that politics are no longer his focus. He also reiterated his admiration for the former president, calling Trump “tougher and more badass than anybody.” White recalled a chilling incident in which Trump was the target of an assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a man fired seven shots at him. White praised Trump for his courage and resilience in the face of such an attack.

White’s political involvement had sparked speculation, with some wondering if he would leave his UFC role if offered a position in Trump’s administration. However, White swiftly shut down those rumors, reaffirming that his future lies with UFC, not the political world.

Despite stepping away from politics, White still praised Trump’s impact on the country, particularly in the aftermath of his time in the White House. White expressed that there is a sense of relief in the country as things improve under Trump’s influence, even though he has yet to officially take office.

As Dana White moves forward in his UFC role, it seems he has no intentions of mixing his passion for combat sports with the divisive nature of political life.
