Raul Rosas Jr., a promising teenage UFC fighter, is determined to carve his name in history by becoming the youngest UFC champion, currently held by Jon Jones. At just 17 years old, Rosas Jr. showcased his skills on Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2022, securing a contract after defeating Mando Gutierrez.
Making his octagon debut at UFC 282 three months later, Rosas Jr., then 18, impressed with a first-round submission victory over Jay Perrin. Despite facing his first career loss against Christian Rodriguez at UFC 287 in April 2023, he bounced back with consecutive wins, including a recent second-round submission triumph over Ricky Turcios at UFC Louisville.
Looking ahead, the Mexican fighter aims to climb the ranks and secure a UFC championship. In an interview on The MMA Hour, Rosas Jr. expressed confidence in his ability to pursue Jones’ record, aiming to achieve it before turning 19.
Reflecting on his journey, Rosas Jr. acknowledged the setback of his loss but remained resolute in his goal to contend for the title. He outlined a strategic path to his championship ambitions, targeting fights against Top 15 contenders within the next two to three years.
Comparing timelines, Rosas Jr. noted that Jon Jones secured the UFC championship at 23 years and 242 days old. With a clear plan and determination, Rosas Jr. believes he can break this record and make history in the sport.
