The FIA has officially released the entry list for the 2025 Formula 1 season, confirming many of the expected line-ups but leaving one key seat up in the air—Red Bull Racing’s second seat. The position currently occupied by Liam Lawson, and previously by Daniel Ricciardo, is marked as “TBC” (to be confirmed), keeping fans and pundits alike guessing about Red Bull’s plans for Sergio Perez.
While Perez insists that he has a valid contract for 2025 and will remain with the team, recent performance struggles—especially in the latter half of the 2024 season—and subtle hints from key figures at Red Bull, including Christian Horner, Helmut Marko, and Max Verstappen, have fueled speculation that the Mexican driver could be replaced.
Apart from the uncertainty surrounding Red Bull’s driver lineup, the 2025 grid is largely set. Newcomers Oliver Bearman, Kimi Antonelli, Gabriel Bortoleto, and Jack Doohan have all been confirmed with their respective race numbers. Notably, Bortoleto will carry the number 5, previously worn by four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, while Doohan will race with the iconic number 61, which was made famous by motorsport legend Stirling Moss. Bearman will debut with the number 87, which he will use during his season with Haas, following his previous outings with Ferrari and Haas under different numbers.
