Red Bull Racing is delaying its decision on the 2025 Formula 1 driver lineup, with Max Verstappen already secured under contract and Sergio Perez likely to retain his seat based on his impressive performance so far in the 2024 season.
Perez expressed his expectation to know his future in the coming weeks due to the fast-paced nature of the driver market. However, Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner indicated that the team is not close to finalizing its plans for next season.
Despite the ongoing speculation about drivers for the 2025 season. Horner emphasized that Red Bull is currently satisfied with its current lineup. While Verstappen is on a long-term contract, Perez’s contract expires this year.

Horner acknowledged Perez’s desire for a swift resolution to contract talks. Especially after the Mexican driver faced pressure during the 2023 season due to a series of poor performances. However, Horner emphasized the importance of assessing Perez’s consistency over the season before making any decisions.
Regarding the possibility of Daniel Ricciardo or reserve driver Liam Lawson joining the team. Horner stated that Ricciardo needs to demonstrate impressive form to be considered. He also noted Lawson’s eagerness for an opportunity but emphasized that the priority lies with the current race drivers.
