However, Olaf Manthey, founder of Manthey EMA, Porsche’s primary team, suggests that a repeat of this success in the upcoming season might be unlikely due to potential political influences.

Manthey expressed skepticism about Porsche’s ability to replicate last year’s dominance, hinting at the regulatory concept of Balance of Performance (BoP), which aims to equalize competition among different manufacturers.

While acknowledging the importance of a fair and competitive racing environment, Manthey suggested that Porsche might face challenges in achieving similar success this year, particularly with changes in team entries and car numbers.

Manthey EMA's

With Manthey EMA being the sole Porsche representative and fielding only two cars for the 2024 DTM season. concerns arise regarding whether Porsche could be at a political disadvantage. Compared to manufacturers with more entries.

Manthey’s remarks come amidst previous allegations of Porsche benefiting from favorable BoP adjustments, especially during crucial race weekends. However, Manthey refuted such claims, suggesting that a comprehensive analysis of lap times could provide a clearer understanding of performance dynamics.

As Porsche prepares for the new season, the comments from Manthey underscore the complex interplay between sporting prowess, regulatory factors, and competitive dynamics in motorsport championships like the DTM.
