Following a weekend of high stakes at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Jos Verstappen, father of Red Bull’s star driver , has intensified the pressure on Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, urging for his resignation.
The controversy surrounding Horner’s future unfolded amidst Red Bull’s dominant 1-2 finish in Bahrain and an investigation into allegations made against him by a female employee. While the probe initially cleared Horner of any wrongdoing, subsequent developments reignited tensions within the team.

Verstappen Sr., speaking to the UK tabloid Daily Mail, voiced concerns over the ongoing tension and potential division within the team if Horner remains in his role. He emphasized the need for decisive action, stating, “The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can’t go on the way it is. It will explode. He is playing the victim, when he is the one causing the problems.”
Verstappen Jr., however, has maintained a diplomatic stance regarding Horner’s leadership, acknowledging his contributions to the team’s performance while also hinting at possible distractions.
The situation surrounding Horner’s tenure at Red Bull remains fraught with speculation and internal discord. Despite rumors implicating Verstappen Sr. in efforts to remove Horner, he has denied involvement, citing his son’s successful stint with the team as a reason for his non-involvement.
As the controversy unfolds, the future direction of Red Bull Racing hangs in the balance, with Verstappen Sr.’s remarks adding further fuel to the already intense scrutiny surrounding Horner’s leadership.
