Cavan Sullivan, the 14-year-old soccer sensation set to join Manchester City, has disclosed his aspiration to play for the United States national team, despite tempting offers from Germany.
Already making waves as the fifth-youngest player to sign a professional contract in Major League Soccer (MLS), Sullivan’s imminent move to Manchester City has sparked interest worldwide. Despite his German eligibility, owing to his parentage, the Philadelphia native remains steadfast in his desire to represent the USA on the international stage.
Reflecting on his international prospects, Sullivan stated, “I’m an American, but I’m open to options, I guess. I want to win the World Cup with the USA. So that’s all I’ve got to say.”
Manchester City secured Sullivan’s signature amidst fierce competition from top clubs. The midfielder’s remarkable talent was on full display during a memorable Under-15 match between the USA and England, where he scored two crucial goals in a 2-2 draw.
