Mallorca equalized in the second half with Vedat Muriqi’s powerful header from a Dani Rodriguez corner. Real Madrid struggled to break down the resilient Mallorca defense, with Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior both missing chances. In stoppage time, Madrid’s Ferland Mendy was sent off for a high challenge on Muriqi, adding to Madrid’s frustrations.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged the team’s lack of balance and need for better defensive organization. Despite selecting the same lineup that won the UEFA Super Cup, Madrid couldn’t secure a win against the newly promoted side. Mallorca coach Jagoba Arrasate, in his first match in charge, praised his team for their effort and resilience.

Muriqi’s goal and Greif’s saves ensured Mallorca earned a valuable point, while Real Madrid, who lost just once last season, struggled to find their rhythm. Muriqi expressed pride in scoring against one of the world’s top teams, highlighting the significance of the draw for Mallorca.
