Ruben Amorim’s Message to Manchester United Fans Ahead of His Debut

New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is gearing up for his first match in charge, with a clear message to fans: “We will be ready.”

Amorim, who succeeded Erik ten Hag almost two weeks ago, arrived in Manchester on Monday, just a day after his final match with Sporting Lisbon. After landing at Manchester Airport, they drove him straight to Carrington, where he met with chief executive Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth, and technical director Jason Wilcox.

During his first few days at United, the 39-year-old manager toured Old Trafford, met club staff, and interacted with supporters attending a stadium tour. Amorim also visited the club’s trophy room and met with United Women’s star Ella Toone. Reflecting on his new role, he commented, “This is funny. I’ve watched this room so many times,” referring to the press conference room.

Although Amorim has yet to receive his work permit and cannot conduct training sessions at Carrington, he remains focused on preparing for his debut match. The team’s international break has provided him with some time to acclimate before his first game on Sunday, when United face Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Amorim’s arrival comes at a crucial time for the club, who are currently sitting 13th in the Premier League, but only four points behind the top four. The Portuguese manager is determined to get United’s season back on track and is confident his team will be prepared for the challenges ahead.
