Chelsea and Manchester United Fans Left Fuming After Michael Olise’s Messi-Like Performance for Bayern Munich

Michael Olise delivered a performance for the ages on Tuesday night as Bayern Munich stormed to a 5-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. The former Crystal Palace star, now at Bayern, scored twice and set up another goal, with his second strike particularly leaving fans in awe.

Shakhtar took the lead early with a goal from Brazilian forward Kevin, but Bayern quickly responded. Konrad Laimer equalized, and Thomas Müller’s goal just before halftime put the Bavarians ahead. Olise’s involvement was key, as he provided the assist for Laimer’s goal.

After the break, Olise took center stage. He scored from the penalty spot and then capped off his remarkable performance with a sensational solo goal. Picking up the ball 40 yards out, Olise weaved through Shakhtar’s defense, evading four players with exceptional footwork. As he reached the edge of the box, he calmly dribbled past the goalkeeper, who lay stranded on the floor, before slotting the ball into an empty net.

TNT Sports commentator was effusive in his praise: “This is a brilliant run from Michael Olise. It’s absolutely magnificent! What a goal. Utterly spectacular… world-class and outrageous.”

The goal had Bayern’s bench erupting in celebration, with Thomas Müller visibly impressed by the young forward’s audacity.

For Chelsea and Manchester United fans, Olise’s stunning performance was a painful reminder of what could have been. Both Premier League clubs were keen on signing Olise over the summer, but it was Bayern Munich who secured his signature in a £50m deal.

Reacting on social media, one Manchester United fan lamented, “Michael Olise would have been an amazing signing for Manchester United. Imagine a top player like him, but we stuck with Rashford and Antony…” Another fan echoed, “We made a mistake allowing him to join Munich. He would have been a massive addition to our team.”

Chelsea supporters also expressed their regret, with one stating, “If we had signed Olise, we would’ve won the league this-year.” Another Chelsea fan added, “Remember how we fumbled Michael Olise…”

After being named Player of the Match, the 22-year-old spoke to UEFA about his performance: “I thought we played a good game, stuck to what we know how to do, and the coaches’ tactics, and it worked so we’re happy. When you’re in a system that suits your style of play and that everyone’s happy with, it’s simple to just come in and enjoy your football.”

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany praised the team’s resilience: “It was a tough start. The way we took on the game, I think it was clear we were the better team. We conceded early, but stayed calm, and grew into the game.”

Olise’s dazzling display has left both fans and pundits raving, further cementing his potential as one of Europe’s brightest young talents.
