Coach Collin Benjamin and a Mix of Experienced Players Highlight the 23-Member Squad for AFCON 2024

Namibia’s national football association confirmed a trimmed squad of 23 players for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations finals. The final squad was selected from the 28 initially preparing in Ghana, bringing a blend of experience and fresh talent.
11 players from Namibia’s 2019 AFCON finals return, seeking to enhance their previous tournament performance in 2023.
At the helm is Peter Shalulile, Mamelodi Sundowns’ top scorer, joined by experienced fullback Ryan Nyambe from English clubs.
Coach Collin Benjamin voiced the team’s ambition to exceed past AFCON performances, stressing its significance for Namibia.
Namibia, in Group E, prepares to challenge formidable opponents – Tunisia, South Africa, and Mali – in the Ivory Coast tournament. A friendly match against Ghana in Kumasi is scheduled before the tournament commences.
