Lecce Manager Apologizes for On-Field Incident with Verona Striker

Roberto D’Aversa, the manager of Lecce, has issued an apology for his actions during a confrontation with Hellas Verona striker Thomas Henry after their recent Serie A match.

The match, a crucial fixture near the bottom of the Serie A table, ended with Verona securing a narrow 1-0 away victory, courtesy of Michael Folorunsho’s goal in the 17th minute. Tensions escalated at the final whistle, leading to altercations between players and staff from both teams.

Henry was sent off late in the game, and D’Aversa unexpectedly entered the pitch, ultimately headbutting him. Both individuals were subsequently shown red cards by the referee.

Henry also took responsibility for his actions, acknowledging his mistake in reacting to provocations on the field. He apologize to his teammates and fans on social media. Expressing regret for his behavior and emphasizing that such actions were unjustifiable.
