Reports suggest that Jadon Sancho is poised to pursue a permanent departure from Manchester United in the upcoming summer transfer window, primarily due to his reluctance to play under Erik ten Hag.
On loan at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho’s time at Manchester United saw a fallout with Ten Hag, leading to his exclusion from first-team activities.
The 24-year-old winger, feeling unjustly targeted, found solace in his return to Dortmund through a January transfer window loan. Sources indicate that he harbors no desire to return to Old Trafford, citing Ten Hag as the root cause of his career’s downturn. Sancho’s actions on social media, including scrubbing mentions of United from his Instagram account, underscore his stance.
While under contract with Manchester United until June 2026 and earning £250,000 per week, Sancho’s wages present a financial obstacle for the club, particularly concerning financial fair play regulations under INEOS ownership. However, his recent goal-scoring performance for Dortmund signals a potential resurgence.
Sancho’s winning goal against Werder Bremen showcased glimpses of his past brilliance, prompting praise from Dortmund’s interim manager, Edin Terzic.
